Stormwater Approval Process
Submit all forms/paperwork to the City of Shelbyville City Engineer’s office or call the Public Works Department at 502-633-1094.
- Preliminary - Subdivision, Planned Unit Development (PUD) and/or Storm Water Quality Management Permit Application.
- Submit application form
- One set of preliminary Construction Plans
- Application Fee - refer to fee schedule
- Final - Development Plan, Subdivision, Planned Unit Development and/or Storm Water Quality Management Permit Application.
- Preliminary PUD or Subdivision Plan must be approved by Triple S Planning and Zoning.
- Submit Final Application form (PDF).
- Submit Site Plan Review Checklist (PDF): Sites that disturb 0.5 acres or more and/or are part of a greater common development. If applicable the following items are required with this checklist.
- Two stamped and signed copies of all plans
- Detention analysis (include checklist) (PDF)
- Letter of permission for Offsite Work
- Division of Water (DOW) approval
- Detailed Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) checklist (PDF)
- Deed of Easement with exhibit or Amended Plat with newly created easements
- Preliminary Stormwater Maintenance Agreement (PDF)
- Engineers Estimated Bond Amount for stormwater quality and quantity features
- For sites less than 0.5 acres:
- Preliminary copy of the SWPPP
- One set of Construction Plans:
- Site plans
- Drainage plans
- Grading plans
- Erosion control plans
- Road profiles
- Storm profiles
- Detail sheets
- Application Fee - refer to fee schedule.
Following Triple S Planning and Zoning Commission Approval but before a building permit will be issued or Construction begins the following applies:
- Land Disturbance Permit: required before Triple S Planning and Zoning or a City of Shelbyville Permit will be issued
- Submit a Land Disturbance Permit Application (PDF)
- Final copy of the SWPPP and checklist
- Finalized construction plans
- Copy of the Approved KDOW Notice of Intent (if greater than or equal to 1 acre)
- Application Fee
- Maintenance Agreement completed and Filed
